Shooting Sunbursts Underwater

An interesting artistic effect in underwater photography is shooting against the sun with highlighting the foreground using your strobes.

Keeping in mind a series of settings and rules yield spectacular shots of sunbursts. Read the article by Jason Isley on Sport Diver Magazine.

It does not need a big high end DSLR camera to achieve such results.

The right hand picture has been taken in the Verzasca River in southern Switzerland using available light only with a compact camera applying respective settings.

If you like the effect, I am offering a beautiful coral shot with sunburst for download as wallpaper optimized for most of the currently available smartphones.
